GENERAL

  • As soon as you are admitted you will be searched for weapons, drugs or other illegal objects. Your luggage will also be searched. This is strictly for security reasons.
  • Each participant will be required to take a shower upon entrance to the program.
  • While in the program you cannot use any drugs, alcohol, tobacco or any medication that affects the nervous system. If you break these rules you may receive discipline or be dismissed.
  • Cursing, swearing, excessive street talk or conversations about drugs and sex are not allowed.
  • Anyone caught fighting will automatically be dismissed from the program.
  • No one is allowed to leave the boundaries of the centre, as explained on arrival, without staff supervision or approval.
  • Residents must be on time for all scheduled activities.
  • Your bed must be made before the morning meeting and breakfast.
  • You are not permitted to carry any money during the first 2 months of the program.
  • All forms of music, literature or publications of any kind must be handed in and checked by the staff. Only Christian and classical music is allowed.
  • No iPods, MP3 players or mobile phones are allowed. The decision as to whether they will be returned to you during your period of rehabilitation will be made by the staff.
  • The costs of special requirements such as transportation to medical appointments, court proceedings, etc. are the responsibility of the participant.
  • Drug testing may be required at the discretion of the staff.
  • Staff have the rights to search your room at their discretion.
  • When you are admitted to the centre, you must sign a declaration that Remar Australia will not be responsible for any loss or injury you may suffer, nor for any illness you may incur during you stay at the centre.
  • If the participant decides to leave, abandon the program before completion or be asked to leave as a result of bad behaviour, any fees paid are non-refundable.
  • If the participant decides to leave or abandon the program, they must organise to take all belongings with them. Remar is not responsible for any belongings left behind.

 

PERSONAL HYGIENE & APPEARANCE

  • Hair must be short and neatly trimmed; extreme hairstyles are not permitted.
  • Showers must be taken every day (4 minutes time limit to save water)
  • When leaving the shower, you must either be dressed or use a robe. Towels used as covering are not acceptable.
  • You must bring some work clothes for daily duties.
  • You must bring some neat casual clothes for church and special events.
  • T-shirts with worldly slogans that go against godly principles are not allowed.
  • Jewellery is limited to a wristwatch and a wedding ring.

 

MAIL

  • All mail (incoming and outgoing) must have sender’s name. All mail not approved must be opened in the presence of staff.
  • You may only write to those on your contact list (no friends or ex-partners).

 

PHONE CALLS

  • Participants are allowed to make one 10 minute phone call a week.
  • Married parents with children may call after 1 week in our program. All other participants must wait 2 weeks before they can make a call
  • You may only call those on your contact list (close family).

 

MEDICATION

  • Must be prescribed and free of any stimulating or tranquillising effect (sleeping pills or strong psychotic medication). Please seek medical supervision before stopping any medical treatment.
  • Remar Australia is a drug free program and discourages the use of on-going medication.
  • Participants must go to detox before coming for rehabilitation.

 

ROOMS

  • Beds are to be made with a top and bottom sheet.
  • Rooms must be kept tidy at all times.

 

TV

  • TV viewing is allowed for news and sports.
  • Christian TV channels can be viewed during the week.
  • Movies and other type of entertainment will be subject to staff supervision.

 

FAMILY VISITS

  • Family members may visit after 4 weeks.
  • In the case of residents who have children, visits can be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
